Dear EI Community,
Thank you for subscribing to the Everyone’s Invited newsletter! We are excited to share more updates about our work, and most importantly, our impact on schools, society and beyond. We feel so fortunate to have such a passionate and engaged community of survivors, young people, advocates and allies who continue to support the work we do.
Some of our key highlights over the past year include the launch of our incredible Education Programme and our triggering of the landmark 2023 Women and Equalities Committee Report on 'Attitudes towards women and girls in educational settings'.
Over the summer, we’ve been gearing up for an exciting start to a new school year and really looking forward to growing our charity so we can continue our most essential and impactful activity; platforming the voices of survivors and ensuring their stories are heard.

Education
The Education team worked hard over the summer holidays to prepare for the new academic year! We conducted an academic review of our education with pupils, academics, educators, safeguarding experts, SEND & EDI specialists, psychologists and teachers. This was followed by an update and review of our materials that we delivered to our facilitation team in the first week of September.
We update our education termly and work closely with our specialist team of facilitators to keep them up to date on trends and news that has changed over the summer. We have begun delivering staff and student training and are looking forward to a packed term ahead!
Website
The website team has been working hard processing all of the testimonies we receive here at EI. The fact we are still receiving hundreds of testimonies every month is a true testament to how important the issue of rape culture is. Markedly, it is not only a UK-wide problem, as our submissions are coming in from all over the world: from Ecuador to Bangladesh, from Australia to Egypt.
We are so thankful for all our website volunteers that ensure the organisation is running smoothly and keeping up with the submissions. Hopefully, you will get to meet them all in one of our later newsletters!
Social Media
It’s been a busy few months for social media at Everyone’s Invited. The summer began with Pride Month which we celebrated across our social media with colourful and uplifting content. Then Barbie-fever hit and we shared hugely popular thought piece, ‘Is Barbie a Feminist Film?’ and a guide to being an 'Active Bystander Ken' This September, as lots of young people start university or college, we’re sharing regular Freshers content on topics ranging from nightlife to sexual wellbeing. Finally, keep an eye on our Instagram and TikTok as we take you behind the scenes of our education programme with lots of new video content.
FURTHER SEPTEMBER READING…
Reading Inspiration from Everyone’s Invited - This month we also shared six books on healing, empowerment and feminism. Comment below if you’ve read any of them before, or have recommendations for our wider community
A Guide to Nightlife and Sexual Violence - Throughout September we shared content that may be of use to anyone starting university or college.
If you’d like to see more content like this, let us know!
Hello, Goodbye…
This month we say goodbye to our wonderful Lisa, who has been working with us since the start of the year as a general manager. In her time at EI she organised the launch and management of our new site, oversaw team training, worked with the fundraising team and liaised with all teams to establish operational plans and long-term goals for the organisation. She will be stepping down to a Volunteer position whilst balancing her new career within the Charity sector and we wish her the best of luck for what’s to come.
We also welcome Dania, our new Executive Assistant! Having completed a master’s in Gender, Violence and Conflict and subsequently working in the Charity sector, she will be joining us this September.
